Obituary

Zella Mae Zolnier, Magnolia, Texas, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully of natural causes Saturday (8-11-12) at the age of 86.

Zel was born on Nov. 11, 1925 in Sharon and was the daughter of Norman Walker and Anna Leonard-Walker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was a graduate of Sharon High School. She was employed at the former Sharon Westinghouse where she met her beloved husband Daniel and was married in October 1945.

Zel and Daniel raised a family of four sons. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Through the years Zel was also employed at the Sharon Police Department, Stambaugh Thompsons and Grant's Department Store. For 8 years Zel and Dan owned and operated the PA Lottery in the Shenango Mall. While at WT Grant Zel formed a lifelong connection with some of her fellow employees .They were better known as the "Grant Patrol".

Zel's joy and motivation was her family, her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all.

Zel is survived by an older brother Joe Baldwn of Sharon, her three sons, Daniel J. Zolnier of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Richard A. Zolnier of Conroe, Texas, Bill D. Zolnier and his wife Michell of Magnolia, Texas, four grandchildren Jef Zolnier and his wife Mary of Sharon, Cara Zolnier Lambert and her husband AJ, Kayla and Christopher Zolnier of Magnolia, Texas and three great grandchildren Hennessey Zolnier of Sharon, and Shelbyann and Bailey Lambert of Magnolia, Texas.

Zel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Terry and sister's Suzanne and Velma.

Her family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in her memory to please consider Sacred Heart Church 40 South Irvine Ave., Sharon, Pa. 16146, where she was a member, or Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, T N 38105, to which she was a passionate contributor.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday (8-17-12) at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of the Sacred Heart 40 South Irvine Ave., Sharon, with the Rev. Henry C. Andrae, pastor, as the celebrant.

Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
