Obituary

William A. Robertson, 79, of West Middlesex, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021, in his home.

Mr. Robertson was born August 29, 1941, in Apollo, PA, a son of the late Burnell and Aline (Binder) Robertson. He was a 1961 graduate of Apollo Ridge High School.

William attended New Castle School of Trades where he learned the skill of welding.

He was employed at the former Midland-Ross Corp., Sharon, until its closing. Most recently, he worked in maintenance at J.C. Penny Department Store in the Shenango Valley Mall.

William was a member of the West Middlesex United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed fishing, boating and being in the outdoors. He spent many years going to camp with his parents in Templeton, PA.

He was family oriented and strongly supported his niece and nephew's sporting events. He was also a fan of Nascar, the Pittsburgh Steelers and dirt track racing, especially to cheer on his nephew, David Airgood, Jr.

William will be remembered for his kindness to others and love for his Dachshund, "Morkie." Every morning he would walk to meet his friends for coffee at Dairy Queen or the West Middlesex Diner.

He is survived by his niece, Tina Airgood and her husband David, Sr., of West Middlesex, and Pam Tullos, of TX; and three great nieces and nephews, David Airgood, Jr. and his wife Sandy and their daughters Carlee and Penelope, of Hermitage, Amanda Cannyn and her husband Spencer, of TX, and Deanna Airgood, of West Middlesex.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Pettigrew; and a nephew, Roby Pettigrew.
