William H. McNutt, Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 10:30 a.m. Sunday (8-14-11) in his residence with family and his dog Lilly by his side. He was 90.
Mr. McNutt was born August 30, 1920 in Clarion, PA a son of the late Walter Craig and Gladys M. Stover McNutt.
He was a lifelong resident of Sharon and Hermitage and a graduate of Sharon High School.
Bill served with the US Navy during WW II in the S. Pacific.
He was a member of the Local 47 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union and retired from Ivor J. Lee, Inc. after more than 40 years of service.
Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sharon. An outdoorsman and avid sportsman, Bill enjoyed gardening and loved hunting and fishing. He also loved his dog Lilly who was a big part of his life.
His wife, the former O. Jean Jerry, whom he married May 15, 1945, passed away January 15, 2007.
A beloved father he is survived by: two daughters, Marge Subasic, Virginia Beach, VA; and Patricia Milone, Hermitage; a granddaughter, Paula Subasic, also Virginia Beach; and Lilly.
Besides his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Marmion; two brothers, Scott and Jack McNutt; and a son-in-law, Jack Subasic.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice, 3871 E. State St., Hermitage, PA 16148; or simply do something for someone in need.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (8-18-11) in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, with the Rev. Sam Marchetta, Hospice Chaplain, officiating.
