Obituary

Heaven gained an angel on April 15, 2024, William Otis "Bill" Gilliam of Hermitage.

Bill was born on May 9, 1944, in Soldier, KY a son of the late Lenzie and Opal Gilliam. At age 6, his family moved to Mineral Ridge, OH. For several years, Bill honorably served his country in the US Army.

He was employed for 34 years at Packard Electric Corp., Warren, OH, retiring from the tool crib in 1999.

"Poppop" enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, and any type of outside work. He was frequently seen walking through his neighborhood, making friends. He will be missed for his quick-witted humor and ability to fix just about anything. He would do anything for anyone and made friends anywhere he went.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra Gilliam; his children, Jennifer Davidson (Stephen), Sharon, Brian Gilliam, Lisa Gilliam and Michelle Reese, all of Warren, OH; grandchildren, Ariana and Willow Davidson, Brian Reese, Kenneth Gilliam and Brian Gilliam, Jr. Also surviving are a sister, Betty Smith, Warren, OH; a brother, Ray Gilliam (Carol), Cortland, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

"We know you're home with Jesus and resting without pain. You're in our hearts forever!"

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home with Rev. Randy Emmorey, officiating.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
