William N. Floros of 3675 Mount Hickory Blvd., Hermitage, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 2:30 a.m. in Sharon Regional Health Systems. He was 77.
Mr. Floros was born in Greenville, PA, on October 3, 1933, a son of Nickolas and Mary Costianes Floros.
He was a 1951 graduate of Greenville High School and Thiel College in 1956. He went on to obtain his Masters Degree in Education from Slippery Rock University.
William was a social studies teacher for the Hermitage School District for over 41 years. During that time he also coached football and basketball.
Mr. Floros was a lifetime member of the NEA and PSEA. He also was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.
William was a longtime loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavs.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Fisher Floros, whom he married July 20, 1968; 2 daughters, Nikki (Mark) Matusiak of Zelienople, PA, and Dr. Katharine M. Floros of Columbia, MO; a son, Dr. Matt (Sabrina) Floros of Bel Air, MD; a brother, Christopher Floros of Hermitage; seven grandchildren, Helena, Alek, Cecilia and Dimitri Matusiak and Athena, Ardon, and Alanna Floros. William is also survived by a sister-in-law, Rosanne Fisher of Youngstown, OH.
Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Floros.
Calling Hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011, in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Edward J Zeitler, pastor of Notre Dame Church.
Internment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
