William E. 'Bill' Fanga, 504 Moss Lane, Greenville, PA (Pymatuning Twp.) passed away peacefully Thursday (1-19-12) of natural causes. He was 83.
Mr. Fanga was born April 15, 1928 in Griswold, CT the son of Elias and Teresa Dzkurr Fanga. He was a 1946 graduate of Griswold High School and received his B.S. in Business Administration and a Masters in Economics from the University of Connecticut (UCONN).
Bill and his wife, Lucille, owned and operated Sunnyview Mobile Home Park, Transfer for 37 years, retiring in 2009.
He enjoyed woodworking and flying and was a licensed pilot. He was an avid fan of UCONN basketball and he was a member of the Reynolds VFW.
A decorated veteran of WWII, he was given an honorable discharge from the United States Army on December 29, 1947 with the WW II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal.
His wife of 61 years, the former Lucille 'Lucy' Jarvis, whom he married May 6, 1950 in St. Mary's Church, Jewett City Connecticut, survives at home. He is also survived by a nephew, Dr. Lance Kiss and his wife Christine, Unionville, CT and two great nephews, Robert and Stephen Kiss.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Ann Fanga and Lenora Kiss.
The family suggests memorial contribution be made to a charity of their choice.
