William H. Davies, Hermitage, passed away peacefully at his residence at 4:30 p.m. Sunday (3-6-13). He was 88.

He was born July 13, 1927 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania the son of Thomas and Helen Neubauer Davies.

He was raised in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School.

A decorated veteran of the Korean War, his tour of duty included Korea and his service record indicated that he was an expert marksman.

He returned home and gained employment with the former Sharon Steel Corporation's Farrell plant where he worked with perfect attendance for 40 years.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Sharon.

Mr. Davies was a 50 year member of the Free and Accepted Masons and he belonged to the Shenango Valley Lodge 810, Hermitage.

He loved listening to music and owned countless compact disks in his music collection.

His loving wife the former Erma J. Boggs whom he married August 27, 1960, survives at home.

Besides his wife, he leaves his  two brothers, Thomas Davies and his wife Doris, Moon Twp, and Edward Davies and his wife Kathy, Hermitage, four nieces, Michelle Boggs, Sharon, Jill Hockenberry, Wooster, Ohio, Jane Davies, and Patricia Davies, both of Moon Twp., and a special friend and caregiver, Patty Marrie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours: 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday (3-9-16) in the First United Methodist Church.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (3-9-16) in the Church with the Rev. Terry Shaffer, pastor of the church officiating.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
