Obituary

A Mass of Christian Visitation will be held Wednesday for William Wallace Brest of Sharon. He passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015, in his residence. He was 81. Mr. Brest was born May 30, 1933, in Sharon. He attended Sharon High School and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Brest retired in 1980 from the former National Castings Division of Midland-Ross Corp., Sharon, where he was as a crane operator. Bill was a 32nd degree Free and Accepted Mason and a member of Lodge 517, Sharpsville, and the Scottish Rite's New Castle Consistory. Surviving are: a daughter, Faith Ann Marie Brest, Sharon; two sons, William Wallace Brest II, Sharon; and Joshua Todd Brest and his wife Mandie, Freeport, Texas; five grandchildren, Justin Budetich, Quinn Brest, Sappire, Arionah Brest and Kyla Koser; a longtime companion, Vicki Gilliland, Sharpsville; two stepdaughters, Corinne Gilliland, Sharon; and Jessica Gilliland, Sharpsville; and two sisters, Delores Brest and Jean Wiesen, both Sharon. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Fern Brest; a son, Joseph Francis Brest; and a brother, Robert "Dutch" Brest. Calling hours: Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (4-8-15) in Buhl Park Activities Building. Please use the Forker Boulevard entrance.
