William B. Best, 62, of 27758 Route 66, Lucinda, Pa., formerly of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 13, 2013, at his home of natural causes. He was born Oct. 14, 1950, in New Castle, a son of Benjamin and Isabel Smail Best. He was a 1971 graduate of Shenango High School. He was employed as a tree trimmer with Asplundh Tree Service for more than 10 years. He retired in October 2012, so that he could hunt and fish every day. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was an expert fly fisherman and loved to boast about the fish he had caught. He was also a skilled archer, competing professionally at one time. He enjoyed taking family fishing trips and spending time with his loved ones, especially his beloved daughter, Stacey. They spent a great deal of time together fishing and he was always there to help her with projects around her house. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his daughter, Stacey A. Best, of Warren, Ohio; a sister, Linda Esposito and her husband, Tony, of New Castle; and two brothers; Charles R. Best and his wife, Nora, of New Castle and Richard A. Best of Edinburg. He was preceded in death by his parents. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry F. Llewellyn of the Hoover Heights Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in New Castle officiating. Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the J. Bradley Mcgonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St.
