A funeral service will be held Thursday for William E. Bailey of Warren, Ohio, formerly of Sharpsville. He went home to be with the Lord Monday morning (8- 25-14). He passed away at his residence after an extended illness. He was 79. Mr. Bailey was born Dec. 2, 1934, in Red Bank Township, Venango County, one of six children born to Mervin and Lillian Minerd Bailey. He graduated from high school in Red Bank. Mr. Bailey retired from the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant. He also worked for First National Bank Data Center and Reville Automotive Warehouse, both in Hermitage. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, Hermitage. A 32nd degree Free and Accepted Mason, he belonged to Lodge 517, Sharpsville, and Scottish Rite's New Castle Consistory. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, a good round of golf and rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates. His wife, the former Mary Whitaker, whom he married Dec. 11, 1959, passed away July 12, 2012. He is survived by: his five daughters, Paula Cross and her husband John,Warren; Vicki Lenzi, Hermitage; Laura Rager and her husband Howard, Sharon; and Barbara Yavorsky and Dee Dee James, both Sharpsville; and his grandson, Christopher Kaska, Pittsburgh, whom he raised. Completing his family are 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; three sons-inlaw, the Rev. Robert Lenzi, Jack James and William Yavorsky; a grandson, Richard Goheen; and five siblings.
