William Edward Altman, Sr., 74, of New Castle, previously Sharon passed away Tuesday morning March 11, 2025, in his home.

Mr. Altman was born November 3, 1950, in New Castle, a son of the late Earl Altman and Della Grannis.

Bill earned an associate's degree in Electrical Technology from the New Castle School of Trades in 1984. He worked as a general laborer for a number of businesses during his working years.

He served in the United States Air Force.

Bill had a passion for fishing, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by one son, William "Billy" Altman, Jr. (Melissa Smith), of Sharpsville; three daughters, Ebony Paige (Arthur), of Sharon, Amanda Porterfield, and Kiley Altman, both of New Castle; a sister, Carol Altman-Matthews; a brother, Clifford Altman (Lisa), all of New Castle; 18 grandchildren, William III (Amanda), Tayonna, Mykel, Marquis, Ondrey, Tyrese, Sakwan, Lannia (Brennon), Michael, Takeyah, Ramiero, Dewayne, Devonte (Shuarri), Kevale, Lilian, Aislyn, Brandon, and Jacob; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and two ex-wives, Barbara Altman, and Cathy Wise.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a stepson, Brandon Moore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family by contributing to Bill's Memorial Fund.

In keeping with Bill's wishes all services will be held privately.
