Wayne M. Culbreth of Farrell passed away Monday morning (1-16-17) in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness. He was 75.
Mr. Culbreth was born September 19, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama, a son of Raymond and Evelyn Schnell Culbreth.
Wayne moved to the Shenango Valley at the age of 12 and later attended Sharpsville High School.
He served in the U.S. Army, and later the U.S. Army Reserves from which he was honorably discharged 31 December, 1966. For over 30 years,
Wayne was employed by the General Motors Corporation's Lordstown Complex, Warren, OH, retiring in 1994 as a replacement operator.
Wayne cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, particularly his five grandchildren and three great granddaughters.
He was always a pleasure to be around, and will be remembered for his genuine sense of humor.
Surviving are: three daughters, Melinda Richardson and her husband, Andy, Austintown, OH; Amanda Culbreth; and Jennifer Footman and her husband George, all Farrell; two sisters, Mary O'Donnell; and Rebecca Culbreth, both Montgomery, AL; and his former spouse and mother of his three children, Nora "Nonie" Culbreth, Farrell.
Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Robert, Jonathan, Raymond, Jazmin and Xavier; and three great granddaughters, Kayeli, Aubrey and Symira.
Wayne was preceded in death by an infant son, Matthew Wayne Culbreth; his father, Raymond Culbreth; his mother, Evelyn Wolfe; step-father, Kenneth Lee Wolfe; two brothers, R. Anthony Culbrethy; and Kenneth Lee Wolfe; a sister, Delores Little; and a nephew, Steve O'Donnell.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday (1-20-17) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Military honors will be rendered prior to calling hours at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
