Obituary

Walter "Wally" Long, 76, of Pymatuning Twp., passed away Monday, November 26, 2018, in his home.

Mr. Long was born May 10, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Walter and Anna (Martin) Long. He was a 1960 graduate of Port Jefferson High School and served in the US Army, where he was stationed in Germany as a tank driver. Wally spent his working career as an over the road truck driver. He was employed for 30 years by Leaseway Transportation, retiring in 2005. He delivered new cars to the east coast from the General Motors, Lordstown plant.

Wally was a member of Clark Trinity United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting model cars, playing on the computer and spending time with his dogs. He was thought of as a master storyteller and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, the former Thelmarie Bundy, whom he married October 21, 2005; five daughters, Lorraine Long and her fiancé Alan Dumbroski, of Mercer; Kim Tarulli and her husband Greg, of Beavercreek, OH; Anna Driggers and her husband Travis, of Grove City; Maggie Babinka, of Mercer; and Mandy Campbell and her husband Jeremy, of Pittsburgh; a son, Brian Long and his wife Laci, of Wesley Chapel, FL; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Kimble and her husband Keith; twelve grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Ruggieri and her husband Pete, of NY; and Carol Surdo and her husband Andy, of Seldon, NY.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gerry Palmer.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Clark Trinity United Methodist Church, 94 Charles St., Clark, PA 16113.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (12/1/2018) in Clark Trinity United Methodist Church, with Rev. William Locke, officiating.
