Obituary

Walter Joseph "Fuzzy" Winiecki, of S. Pymatuning Twp., formerly of Troutman Road, Jefferson Twp., passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, June 6, 2018 , at his residence. He was 91.

He was born December 22, 1926, in New Kensington, PA, a son of Roman Paul and Estelle (Kokut) Winiecki. He attended Farrell schools.

A proud veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Fuzzy was employed for 40 years by Brookfield Dairy, South Pymatuning Twp., which later became Hawthorne Melody and is now known as Dean Dairy, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell, where he served as an usher.

Fuzzy was a member of the Polish National Alliance (PNA) and participated in their bowling league for more than 50 years, serving as league president for several terms. He also enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and building jigsaw puzzles.

His wife of 64 years, the former Mary Ann Chewar, whom he married August 25, 1951, passed away January 4, 2016.

Surviving are: two daughters, Kathleen A. "Kathy" Blasko, Sharon, and Tina M. Cull and her husband Calvin, S. Pymatuning Twp.; two grandchildren, Patrick L. Cull and his girlfriend Tracy Cross, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jenna L. McCright and her husband Andrew, West Salem Twp; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Stankovich, Hermitage.

In addition to his wife, Fuzzy was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Wanda Dolata, Irene Kardos and Regina Stankovich; and three brothers, Roman, Edward, and infant Chester Winiecki.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care 2320 Highland Rd Hermitage, PA 16148 .

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday ( 6-9-18 ) in St. Adalbert Church, 1035 Fruit Ave, Farrell , with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage.

Military honors will be rendered at the cemetery chapel.
