Vivian 'Viv' E. Seifrick, formerly of Hermitage, passed away at 4:43 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in Avalon Springs Nursing Center, Coolspring Township, where she has been a resident for nearly six years. She was 100.
Mrs. Seifrick was born April 17, 1912 in Farrell a daughter of the late Guy and Ida Gizzarelli Porreca.
A lifelong area resident, she was a 1931 graduate of Sharon High School.
Following high school she became a housekeeper for the Fagan family of Sharon. She also worked at the former Sharon Store as a clerk for ten years and the former Savoldi's Food Processing plant in West Middlesex, also for ten years.
Evenings and weekends Viv could be found preparing and serving Italian dishes at Porreca's Bar in Sharon. She always loved to cook and bake cookies, cakes and pies. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards in the Italian Home for more than 75 years with her lifelong friends.
A homemaker, she was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Kostka- Holy Trinity Church, Sharon.
Her husband, John 'Yonk' Seifrick, whom she married June 13, 1936, passed away May 16, 1973. They lived in Sharon until they built a home in 1952 on Keel Ridge Road in Hermitage.
Surviving are: a daughter, Carole Jean Allen, Wayland, Mass.; two sons, John M. Seifrick and his wife Norma Jean, Dallas, Texas; and Richard T. Seifrick and his wife Jean Nicole, Cortland, Ohio; six grandchildren, John A. (Ann) Seifrick and Joni L. Seifrick, all Dallas; Carrie L. Seifrick, Cortland, Ohio; Robyn A. Seifrick, Madison, Ohio; and Jonathan and Gavin Allen, Wayland, Mass.; three great granddaughters, Jane V. and Sarah A. Seifrick, Dallas; and Olivia C. Seifrick, Madison; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by three brothers, Oliver, Orland and Joseph Porreca; and two sisters, Concetta DeVito and Mary Fleet.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Research.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, in the church with Rev. Jeffrey Lucas, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
