Obituary

Vivian Lee LaCamera, Sharpsville, passed away unexpectedly at 9:00 a.m. Christmas Eve (12-24-15) at her residence. She was 70.

She was born August 7, 1945 in Farrell one of two children born to Charles R. "Red" and Grace L. Reuff LaCamera.

She graduated from Mercer County Crippled Children's School, Hermitage.

A lifelong area resident, she belonged to St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.

Vivian served on the Board of Directors for the Mercer County Housing Authority.

She fought for people with disabilities in many capacities and was the founder and secretary of Community Resources for Independence, a group dedicated to helping the Mercer County Housing Authority and the disabled. She was on the Board of Directors for Community Action Partnership of Mercer County where she was a target sector representative, and constituent representative.  She was currently the President of the Board of Directors for the Disability Options Network, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to live independently throughout western Pennsylvania.

She enjoyed playing cards, crafts, and she had many pen pals over the years.

Earlier this month she was preceded in death by her mother Grace LaCamera with whom she made her home.

She is survived by her niece, Tina L. Stefanko and her husband Michael of Transfer, Pa., her nephew, Brian W. LaCamera, Sharon, and several great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Edward LaCamera, and her niece, Mary Jo Kieper.

Her family is suggesting that memorial contributions be made directly to her family.

Calling hours and Services: Services will be held at the convenience of her family at a later date .
