Virginia Louise Williams Wilson, 95, of New Castle was called home to be with the Lord the evening of Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at the Overlook Nursing Home, New Wilmington.

She was born on June 16, 1921, in New Castle, to the late Grant Williams and Ida Hill Williams Riley.

Virginia married George Walter Wilson Sr. and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1989, after 41 years of marriage.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church for many years

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory two loving daughters, Judy A. Wilson of Baltimore, Maryland, and and Darlene P. Wilson Battles of Pittsburgh; two daughters-in-law, Mildred E. Wilson of Baltimore and Irene Wilson of Phoenix City, Alabama; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, George W. Wilson Jr. and Darwin W. Wilson; and four siblings, Herman Williams, Willa Mae Williams Dorsey, Dorothy Riley Mimms and Pearl Williams Mitchell.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St.

A Going Home Service will be conducted at noon Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
