Obituary

Virginia Betty Kuttesch of 10 Adams Ridge Blvd. Mars, PA, formerly of W. State St. New Castle, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011 in Concordia of Cranberry. She was 86.

Mrs. Kuttesch was born February 19, 1925 in New Castle, PA a daughter of Harry C. and Mae Rolston Sampson Duncan.

She was a graduate of Union High School, following high school she went on to graduate with her Associates Degree in Nursing from Youngstown Hospital.

During World War II, Virginia was involved in the Women's Service Cadet Nurse Program at Haines Veterans Hospital in Chicago, IL.

Virginia retired after 22 years as a registered nurse for Rockwell International ? Truck Axle Division. Earlier in her life, Virginia was employed at Jameson Hospital as a nurse.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Mrs. Kuttesch was also active in the Ladies Saxon Club Branch #27 and Jameson Junior Guild since 1985. In her spare time she enjoyed playing golf in the Boreland Ladies Golf League, and bowling. Virginia had a special attachment to her pets and her children's pets. Mrs. Kuttesch enjoyed traveling to where her mother was raised in Wellsboro, PA. Most importantly she loved spending time and traveling with her family and friends.

Her husband, Martin S. Kuttesch, whom she married June 20, 1950, passed away in October of 1982.

She is survived by a daughter, Martha Ann and her husband Jim Winder of Princeton Junction, NJ; 2 sons, Martin S. and his wife Sally Kuttesch of Naperville, IL, and Robert H. and His wife Lois Kuttesch of Cranberry Twp., PA; a brother, Thomas Duncan of Edinburg, PA; 3 grandchildren, Abigail, Brittany, and Ginger Molly.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 W. Falls St. New Castle, PA.

Services: Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday December 3, 2011 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Erin E.B. Smith. There will be calling hours one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Interment: Castle View Memorial Gardens.
