Obituary

Viola "Vi" Klasic Starr, formerly of Warren, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, May 30, 2018, in Clepper Manor CCRC, Sharon. She was 95.

Mrs. Starr was born January 14, 1923, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Shanley) Steiner. She was a 1942 graduate of Sharon High School.

Viola retired from General Electric Ohio Lamp Plant, Warren, OH, where she worked as a line assembly technician for many years.

She loved animals, especially cats, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are: three step daughters, Patricia and Geraldine Klasic, and Gloria Rogan; two sisters, Rose Marie Russo, Burghill, OH, and Carol Augustine, Masury, OH; a sister-in-law, Jane Steiner, who was like a sister to her, Hubbard, OH; a very special niece, June Metter, Warren, OH; a nephew who was like a son, Phillip Russo, Burghill, OH; and many more nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death her first husband, Michael Klasic; her second husband, Floyd Starr; a son, Thomas Klasic; a step son, John Klasic; four sisters, Betty Greb, Eleanor Pringle, Kathleen Slezak and Linda Portz; and a brother, James Steiner.

Calling hour will be 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday (6-4-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Memorial service will be noon Monday, in the funeral home, with The Rev. Richard Rowe, episcopal priest, officiating.

Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
