Victor A. Litwinovich, 87, a lifelong resident of Edinburg passed away late Wednesday evening, December 28, 2016 in UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Mr. Litwinovich was born June 8, 1929, in New Castle, a son of the late Thomas and Ester Szymdt Litwinovich. He was raised in Edinburgh and attended Union High School.
Victor owned and operated his own Beef and Dairy farms. He was a hardworking man who was happiest being outdoors on his tractor. He dedicated his life to farming and worked the farm up until this last summer at the age of 87.
Victor was a member of St. Mary's Church, Mary Mother of Hope Parish. He loved his entire family dearly, and particularly enjoyed the time he shared with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, the former Clara Schrantz, whom he married August 27, 1955; two daughters, JoAnn Janowski and her husband James, Pulaski; and Vickie Litwinovich and her companion Ray Neely, Edinburg; a sister, Josephine White, Edinburg; four grandchildren, Christina Maxwell; Stephanie Courson; and Summer and Austin Neely; and five great grandchildren, Caden and Grace Maxwell; and Ryan, Nicholas and Mason Courson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Litwinovich; and Stanley Litwinovich.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday (1-1-17) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Monday (1-2-17) for St. Mary's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon by Rev. Frank Almade, pastor of Mary Mother of Hope Parish.
