Obituary

Veronica Marie Rogers, 92, of Sharon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children Sunday afternoon, July 6, 2025, under hospice care at her home.

Mrs. Rogers was born September 25, 1932, in Farrell, a daughter of the late Serafine "Sy" and Mary (DeCapua) Tallarico. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Farrell High School in 1950.

A dedicated homemaker, Veronica also worked in the cafeteria for Sharon City Schools.

Veronica was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, where she volunteered in the rectory for a number of years.

An incredible cook, she loved making her beloved pasta, meatballs, and homemade sauce for family and friends. Veronica loved dancing during her younger years and always enjoyed listening to music, especially that which celebrated her Italian heritage.

A true matriarch, Veronica adored her family and supported them endlessly.

Her husband of 55 years, Anthony Rogers, whom she married January 19,1957, preceded her in death in 2012.

Veronica is survived by eight children, Anthony Rogers (Cindy), South Portland, ME, Kathleen Schweiss (Mark), David J. Rogers, Timothy Rogers (Annie Gentile), Patricia Shaffer (Michael), Mary Jo Rahn (Michael), Lynn Piccirilli (Michael), Angela Brown (Daniel), all of Sharon; 26 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Veronica was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Roland "Bud" Tallarico; and a sister, Ann Reda.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Veronica's caretakers, Debbie and Gail, Dr. Alfred Joesph, and the nurses from Helping Hands Hospice for their exceptional kindness and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, online at: https://www.stjude.org/donate/.
