Vera Green, 94, of Garfield Heights, OH, formerly of Farrell, passed away Thursday morning, May 22, 2025.

Mrs. Green was born on December 26, 1930, in Oak Vale, Miss., a daughter of the late Jesse and Rebecca (Alexander) Jefferson. She graduated from Prentice High School.

A homemaker, Vera was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Masury, OH, where she served as deaconess.

She is survived by two sons, Rotter Green, of New Castle, and Marcus Green, of Garfield Heights; nine grandchildren, Raymond, Jada, Devin and Dequan Green, Tyler Bristol, Kiah Deardon, Jessica Taylor, and Barry and Trey Green; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Baxter, of Youngstown, and Marie Jones, of Sharon.

In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Green; a son, Barry Green; and seven brothers, Willie, Tessell, James, Johnny, Lardell, Wardell and Bennie Jefferson.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Prince of Peace, 502 Darr Ave., Farrell, PA 16121.

Calling hours will be 9 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday (05/31/2025) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Raymond O. Brown, officiating.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
