Twila Ann Edwards of 509 E. Market St. Mercer, PA went to be with her savior after a brief illness on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 9:20 p.m. in Sharon Regional Health Systems. She was 73.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Oil City, PA on April 26, 1937, a daughter of Walter L. and Ida Mae Craft Wise.
She attended Oil City Schools. Twila and her husband owned and operated the A&B Coffee Shop in Mesquite, TX for many years.
While in Texas she was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church. She is currently a member of Cedar Avenue Bible Church and was involved in the community outreach program for Crossing Path's TV Ministries. Twila loved to cook elaborate meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed country western music.
Her husband, Billy Edwards Sr. whom she married, January 4, 1957, passed away on March 13, 1994.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by; a son, Billy Jr. and his wife Kym Edwards of Kerrville, TX; a daughter, Brandy Ann and her husband Syd Mallory of Scurry, TX; 4 sisters, Pearl M. and her husband Bill Cutright of Mercer, PA, Eileen G. Rudolph of Sharon, PA, Vernie (Berta) Haag of Sharon, PA and Etta Irwin of Warren, OH; a grandchild, Brent Edwards of Mercer, PA.
Twila was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Calling Hours will be a half hour prior to the service on Friday, January 14, 2011 in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
A memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011 in the funeral home with Rev. George Franklin, associate pastor of Cedar Avenue Bible Church.
