Timothy Howard Schneider, 66, of Bessemer, PA passed away January 16, 2019.
Mr. Schneider was born March 10, 1952, in Sharon, a son of the late Francis "Dink" and Dorothy (Mausser) Schneider.
He was a graduate of Sharpsville High School and attended Penn State University, Shenango Valley campus.
Tim served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1974, when he was honorably discharged.
He was a Petty Officer, 3
rd
Class and served as a radar man on the destroyer, USS Richard B. Anderson-which saw a lot of action- and the USS Frederick.
A decorated war veteran, he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and the Vietnam Service Medal.
He was a member of many VFW clubs following the war.
Tim started his working career at the family owned Golden Dawn and over the years held many different jobs, including employment as a sales representative for Green Tree.
He retired as a public notary, which he did for twelve years.
Tim was actively involved with the Johnson Club of Hillsville and the Bessemer Croatian Club.
He loved golf, which he inherited from his parents and passed on to his children. Tim also loved to swim and was "Daddy Shark" in the pool – always teaching kids to swim and coming up with new games to play. He was also quite artistic and enjoyed painting.
He is survived by a daughter, Megan (Cameron) Connor, Cincinnati, OH; two sons, Douglas Schneider, Zanesville, OH, and Benjamin Schneider, Cincinnati, OH; his longtime companion, Debe Tarkenton, Bessemer, PA; 12 siblings, Mike (Cindy) Schneider, Cortland, OH, Paul (Kay) Schneider, Kinsman, OH, Fred (Syd) Schneider, Cody, WY, Joe (Debbie) Schneider, Dickenson, ND, Andy (Trisha) Schneider, Houston, TX, Margie (John) Bougher, Clark, PA, Dave (Lois) Schneider, Brookfield, OH, Steve (MaryBeth) Cumming, GA, Jane (Ron) Moose, New Castle, PA, Dot (Dan) Cerroni, Sharon, Fran (Bob) Wilson, Sharon, and Mark (Denna) Schneider, Vienna, OH; two grandchildren, Abigail and Evelynn Connor; and his former wife, Rosemary, to whom he was married from 1977-1997.

779 Dutch Lane, Hermitage.
Funeral service will be held privately with Rev., Matthew Strickenberger, pastor of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, officiating.
Full military honors will be rendered by the Sharon American Legion Post 299 Honor Guard.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
