Tiffany E. Gardner, formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 24, 2019, in Tampa, FL, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 38.
Tiffany was born April 26, 1980, in New Castle, a daughter of George E. Walters, Jr. and Joyce E. (Beavon) Rivas. A 1998 graduate of the former Booker T. Washington School of Performing Arts, St. Petersburg, FL, and later attended the State College of Florida, Manatee Campus, and ultimately earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg.
Most recently, Tiffany was working as professional travel pro at World Travel Holdings in Ruskin, FL.
She was the proud founder of "Babes Against Breast Cancer," a non-profit organization which raises funds for cancer research and education.
During her youth and teenage years, Tiffany won numerous beauty pageants. She loved figure skating and won several competitions. As a young girl, Tiffany was selected to be a flower girl at the national competition.
Her beloved husband, Michael Gardner, whom she married December 16, 2017, survives at home.
She is also survived by her mother, Joyce (Oscar) Rivas, of Ruskin, FL; her father, George E. Walters, Jr., of New Castle; her paternal grandmother, Dolores Walters, of New Castle; and her maternal grandmother, Marjorie Beavon, of Ruskin, FL.
Tiffany was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George E. Walters, Sr.; maternal grandfather, Al Beavon; and an uncle, Richard Houk.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial Mass will be 2 p.m. Saturday (4-6-19), in St. Mary Church, Mary Mother of Hope Parish, 124 N. Beaver St., New Castle, with Rev. Victor J. Molka, Jr., as celebrant.
