Thomas E. Stewart, 86, of Neshannock Twp. passed away on Monday evening (01-02-17) at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Tom was born on January 27, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Wealthy Stewart.
He was raised on a farm in Parker, PA and graduated from Parker High School.
Tom proudly served in the Navy from 1948 until 1952 primarily serving aboard the submarine USS Bang 385.
He was first employed by the New Castle Duntile Company for 8 years and later worked for the New Castle Water Company as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years, he retired in 1992.
Tom is survived by his wife of over 62 years, the former Nancy Borland, whom he married on April 2, 1954.
He was a member of First Presbyterian church. Also a member of the American Legion Post #315, Pittsburgh Submarine Veterans Organization, USS Bang 385 organization, a former member of the Foxburg Country Club and served as a Scout Master for twelve years for Troop 749 in Neshannock Twp.
Besides his wife Nancy, He is survived by three daughters; Marsha Hemphill and Lynne Morris both of New Castle and Marybeth Reis of Scottsdale, AZ; a son, David Stewart of Greensburg, PA; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
In keeping with Tom's wishes there will be no calling hours and services will be held privately.
Interment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
