Thomas A. Rodgers, 87, of Sharon passed away with family at his side Sunday morning, January 21, 2024, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Rodgers was born February 14, 1936, in West Middlesex, a son of the late Audley and Sarah (McConnell) Rodgers.

Tom was a member of Teamster's Local 317, Youngstown, OH, and drove truck for several cement plants in the area, most notably for John Gruitza (YBM) in Sharon and Sloan Supply in Greenville, PA.

An avid NASCAR fan, Tom also loved the New York Yankees and New York Giants.

A family man, he dedicated his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren.

His wife of nearly 66 years, Mary M. (Marsh) Rodgers, whom he married February 21, 1958, survives at home.

Tom is also survived by four children, a daughter, Joanie Rodgers-Totin, Sharon; three sons, John Rodgers (Terri), Farrell, Jim Rodgers, West Middlesex, and Tom Rodgers, Jr., Sharon; three sisters, Jane Heini, New Wilmington, Eleanor Bartholomew, of Arizona, and Patty Sorg (Sonny), Fredonia, PA; eight grandchildren, Heather Sims (Dwayne), Thomas Rodgers, III (Nadia), Justine Rodgers (Quentin Odem), Tyler Totin (Tiffany), J.J. Rodgers (Amanda), Eric Rodgers (Jessica), Josh Rodgers (Gigi), and Jake Rodgers; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
