Thomas William Powell, 746 Patricia Ave., Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Friday (3-19-10). He was 49.
Mr. Powell was born July 13, 1960 in Duluth, MN a son of Richard Powell, Sr. and Hiroko Shimodaira Powell.
He moved to Farrell in 1974 and was a 1978 graduate of Farrell High School.
Tom was last employed as a NDT tester at Wheatland Tube Co. where he was employed for 26 years.
He enjoyed camping, playing the guitar, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. Tom also enjoyed baseball and was a coach for his daughter's team, RC-7 UP girl's softball team, years ago in Farrell.
Surviving are: his parents in Wheatland; three daughters, Julia Kulka and her husband Devin, Hermitage; and Christina Powell and Marissa Powell, both Wheatland; a son, Thomas William Powell, II, Wheatland; two sisters, Candice Powell, Hermitage; and Darla Hosack, Chincoteague, VA; three brothers, Richard Powell, Jr., Farrell; Wesley Powell, San Diego, CA; and Gene Powell and his wife Stella, Tacoma, WA; and two grandchildren, Nevaeh and Marihanna Powell.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday (3-25-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
