Thomas E. "TJ" Jennings, formerly of Sharon, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, in Florida. He was 74.
Mr. Jennings was born September 16, 1942, in Sharon, a son of Frank Leroy and Dorothy (Quillian) Jennings. Tom was raised in Wheatland and was a graduate of Farrell High School. He then served with the U.S. Navy from September 1, 1960 to September 13, 1963 and participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was a member and past commander of the Shenango Valley VFW, Post 1338, Sharon. TJ was employed by the City of Sharon as a police officer for more than 24 years and retired in 1993. He previously worked at the former National Castings, Division of Midland Ross Corp.
TJ enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending his retirement in Florida.
Surviving are his five children, Thomas E. Jennings, II and his wife Glenda Lee, Mercer; Debbi J. Jennings, Panama City Beach, FL; Jeffrey W. Jennings and his wife Valerie A., Sharon; Viki E. Davis, also Panama City Beach; and Sandi L. Kapsa and her husband Robert, San Diego, CA; 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; 3 step-children, Crystal, Theresa and Frank Metz and their families; and a brother, Frank L. Jennings, New Castle.
Besides his parents, TJ was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Cole; a brother, Dennis L. Jennings; his first wife and the mother of his children, the former Alice S. Thompson, who died February 1, 2008; and another wife, Sandra Metz, who died October 28, 1992.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Private funeral service will be Thursday, April 20, 2017, in the funeral home, with military honors rendered immediately prior.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
