Thomas Joseph Hilton, Sr. of New Castle passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 2, 2018, in his residence. He was 69.

Mr. Hilton was born August 27, 1948, in New Castle, a son of the late of Edward E. and Anne (Johnson) Hilton. He attended New Castle High School.

Thomas was enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged upon the passing of his father.

He was employed by Universal Rundle, New Castle, for many years. He later worked for Eljer Plumbingware, Inc., Ford City, PA, and Pennsylvania Tool, Kennesaw, GA, retiring in 2013.

In his earlier years, Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a good appetite and loved to serve up his homemade hot wings, fries, and apple pies. Tom was happiest when spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren, Alec, Lauren and Jake. He was the best dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Tom will be dearly missed.

Surviving are: a son, Thomas J. Hilton, Jr. and his wife Tammy; and their children, Alec, Lauren, and Jake, all of Acworth, GA; a brother Edward E. Hilton, Jr., Beaver; and a sister JoAnne (Larry) Thompson, all of New Castle; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tom was proceeded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice Micco; a sister in-law, Sandra Hilton; and nephew, Lee Thompson.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday (5-5-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral service will be at noon Monday (5-7-18) in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle.
