Thomas Wayne Greer, 71, of Hermitage passed away with his wife at his side Sunday, January 21, 2024, in his residence.

Mr. Greer was born August 8, 1952, in Jacksonville, FL, a son of the late James and Hazel (Highsmith) Greer. After graduating from Greer High School, Greer, SC, Thomas honorably served in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam war.

Upon returning home, Thomas worked for General Electric as a global sourcing quality engineer, a job that would allow him to travel the world, until his retirement in 2013.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and had a great love for his five cats.

His wife, the former Jean Ann Nick, whom he married April 28, 1990, survives at home.

Thomas is also survived by two daughters, Emily Suits, Port Charlotte, FL, and Renée Metter, Rochester, NY; three grandchildren, MacKenzie Posello, and Laura and Sharon Metter; and a niece, Heather Greer.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by a daughter, Katrina Greer; and a brother, James Greer.

The family suggests memorial contributions to be made in his name to Truth and Grace Fellowship Church, 786 Karen Lane, Hermitage, PA 16148.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.
