Theresa A. Stanger of Sharon passed away at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday (1-18-17) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, with her loving husband by her side. She was 80.
Mrs. Stanger was born August 14, 1936, in Campbell, Ohio, a daughter of John and Katherine Gresh Duboy.
She was a 1954 graduate of Campbell Memorial (Ohio) High School and moved to the area following her marriage.
Theresa was a homemaker who devoted her whole life to her family.
She also loved working seasonally at Hickory Farms in the Shenango Valley Mall.
Theresa was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex.
On September 17, 1955 she eloped to Aurora, Indiana and married Robert Stanger, Sr. They later had their marriage blessed in Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
Surviving is her loving husband, at home; a daughter, Kathy Patrizi and her husband Craig, Hermitage; grandson, Christopher Stanger and his wife Alicia, Sharon; great grandson, Leir Martuccio, a student at the University of Oregon, Eugene, OR; granddaughter, Kylene Bartel and her husband Todd; great granddaughter, Eva Bartel, all Sharon; a son, Robert Stanger, Jr. and his wife Diane; grandson, Nathan Stanger; great granddaughters, Rowan and Freyja Stanger, all Greenville; granddaughter, Noel Stanger, Hubbard, Ohio; a son, Keith Stanger and his wife Debra, Bristow, VA; granddaughter, Melissa Arvelo and her husband Jose; great grandchildren, Antonio, Sofia and Alexander Arvelo, all Gainesville, VA; grandson, Justin Stanger; grandson, Ryan Stanger and his wife Sarah, all Bristow; a great grandson yet to be born, Liam Stanger; a son, Michael Stanger and his wife Martianne; grandchildren, Luke, Nina and Jack Stanger, all Middleboro, MA; a brother, Michael Duboy, Cortland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dolores Frazzini and Margaret Murphy; and two brothers, Jon and David Duboy.
Theresa had a wonderful smile, a contagious laugh and was extremely generous to everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Nugent Convalescent Home and Three Rivers Hospice for the excellent care in Theresa's final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A private Funeral Mass will be held in Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, with Monsignor Robert Malene, pastor, as celebrant.
