Theresa Fischer of 3410 W. Pittsburgh Rd. New Castle formerly of Hillsville, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in Avalon Nursing Center with her family by her side.

Mrs. Fischer was born October 2, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of Anthony and Anna Lyhenseddar Weidl.

She was a graduate of an all girls parochial high school in New York.

Theresa was a homemaker most of her life. She was of the Catholic Faith. Mrs. Fisher enjoyed playing bingo, but most of all she was a loving wife and mother.

Surviving are: her husband, Charles W. 'Buddy' Fischer, Sr., whom she married November 29, 1952; a daughter, Pauline Fischer of Edinburg, PA; 4 sons, Charles W. Fischer, Jr. John A. Fischer, and twins, Frank G. Fischer and Anthony M. and his girlfriend, Robin Gauselman; a granddaughter, Theresa Scurlock; a grandson, Charles Scurlock; 3 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by, 3 sisters, Josie and her husband Frank Josephs, Anna and her husband Edward Bitz, Catherine and her husband Thomas Eisenhauer, Sr.; an infant son, Walter C. Fischer; an infant daughter, Mary T. Fischer; 2 nephews, Edward Josephs and Thomas Eisenhauer, Jr.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Avalon Nursing Center, 3410 W. Pittsburgh Rd. New Castle, PA 16101.

There are no calling hours. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
