A funeral service will be held on Tuesday (11-23-10) for Theodore I. 'Ted' Foltz, Mercer-West Middlesex Road, West Middlesex, Pa., who passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 73.
Ted was born on July 6, 1937 in Sharon the son of Jacob H. and Thelma M. Brest Foltz. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Hickory High School in 1955.
He retired with 28 years of service from the former Wheatland Tube Corporation where he had worked as a millwright in the maintenance department. Prior to his work at Wheatland Tube, he worked as a self employed carpenter and as a draftsman for Standard Transformer Company in Warren, Ohio.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Sharon, where he served as Deacon and past Trustee. Ted was also very proud to be instrumental in the renovation of the Church Sanctuary.
He loved a good round of golf and belonged to several golf leagues over the years. He especially enjoyed golfing with the Wheatland Tube league at Deer Creek Golf Course, and with the Donnybrook Gang at Donnybrook Golf Course.
His wife the former Ethel Selenchik whom he married on February 14, 1969, survives at home.
He is also survived by two daughters, Aleesa Foltz, and Carol Thomas and her husband Shawn, four sons, John McElhaney and his wife Carole Ann, Paul McElhaney and his wife Mary, Chris Foltz and his wife Angie, and James McElhaney and his wife Deborah, a sister Joan Gaus, a brother, Charles W. Foltz and his wife Esther, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard J. Foltz, and Jay H. Foltz, and a grandson.
Calling hours: 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday (11-22-10) and from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday (11-23-10) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
Services: A funeral service will be held on Tuesday (11-23-10) at 1:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 301 W. State St. Sharon with Rev. John M. Trojak, pastor officiating.
Interment: Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage.
