Terrence F. Lavin, Austintown, Oh, formerly of the Shenango Valley, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Sunday (1-22-12) in Hospice of the Valley's Hospice House, Poland, Oh, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 65.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 12, 1946 the son of William V. Lavin Sr. and Mariana Snyder Lavin.
He attended St. Joseph's Elementary School in Sharon, and Ursuline High School, Youngstown, Ohio, and was a member of Sharon High Schools graduating class of 1964. He attended Penn State Shenango Valley Campus, Sharon.
Terrence worked as a machinist his entire life and worked for several local steel manufacturers, he ended his career with Fessler Machine Company, Sharon.
He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and he enjoyed horticulture. He was a charter captain on Lake Erie and his home ports were located in Port Clinton, and Conneaut, Ohio.
He is survived by his former wife and his best friend Mary Ann Chuba Lavin, Hermitage, a sister Mariana E. Knight, Sharon, two brothers, William V. Lavin Jr., Vienna, OH, and J. Patrick Lavin and his wife Beverley J., Lackawannock Township, a step father, John P. Aiken, Colorado Springs, four nieces and nephews, Richard L Knight and his wife Marianne, Massillon, Oh, Thomas L. Knight and his wife Trisha, West Middlesex, Pa., Beverley J. VanHorn and her husband Christopher, Mercer, Jeffrey A. Lavin and his wife Amber, Frederickburg, Ohio, and six great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, George F. Knight Jr.
