Talmage Phillips, 74, of Sharon passed away peacefully with his wife by his side Saturday morning, October 13, 2018, in his residence.
Mr. Phillips was born May 26, 1944, in Goodwater, AL, a son of the late Willie and Emmaline Phillips.
At the age of 17, Talmage moved to Sharon and as a young man worked for Gibbs Sanitation, Farrell. He later worked at the Cheese House, New Wilmington, and the Prince of Peace, Farrell.
Talmage was of the Baptist Faith.
A "Jack of All Trades," he had a talent for fixing almost anything and especially enjoyed tinkering on classic cars. Talmage loved being outdoors fishing and spending time in his garden. He had an exceptional voice and an appreciation for good music, particularly gospel songs.
Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 22 years, the former Rose Marie Thomas, whom he married July 20, 1996; two step daughters, Nikkia Thomas, Washington D.C.; and LeChea Thomas, Sharon; nine grandchildren, Aaliyah and John Foster, LeShon and Zenniyah Pinkons, Rondale, Ronah and Rondre Johnson, Zeeviah Williams and Roshellia and Freda Norris. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Talmage was preceded in death by all of his siblings; five step children, Tyrentni West, Rose Mary Brockman, Joanne Jasper, Robert Norris, Jr. and Camela Davis; and a step granddaughter, Nautica Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home.
Calling will be 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday (10-19-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Going Home Celebration will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, in the funeral home, with Rev.- Prophet S.J. Thomas, officiating.
