Suzanne Weller, 93, of Hermitage, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, Greenville, PA.
Mrs. Weller was born on August 19, 1932, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Florence (Cumley) Lyons. She attended the former St. Joseph’s Parochial Grade School and was a 1951 graduate of Sharon High School.
She married Harold A. Weller on July 3, 1954, in Canton, OH, at Our Lady of Peace. He passed away on July 2, 2009.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Suzanne was a stay-at-home mother for many years before working alongside her husband, Herk, in their business, Brookfield Drive-In.
She loved to read, play bridge, and golf at various courses in the Valley. She had two holes-in-one; one at the former Oak Tree Country Club and one at the former Greenville Country Club.
Suzanne was a long-time member and volunteer at the Church of Notre Dame and its school in Hermitage. She was active as a homeroom mother, CCD Instructor, Volunteer in ministry for disabled students, and as a Eucharistic Minister. Additionally, she helped with funeral lunches and was in the church’s prayer group at Gretchen Wagner’s home.
Suzanne is survived by three children, Teresa “Terry” (Mark) Borger, of Warren, PA, Mary Beth Hughey, of Hermitage, and Eric (Amy) Weller, of Mercer, PA; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Weller, of Parma, OH; seven grandchildren, Lauren (Brandon) Williams, Megan Borger (William Braatz), William, Scott, and Andrew (Anna) Hughey, Ian (Kayla) Weller, Julia (Adam) Geibel; nine great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Michael Cusick; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Suzanne was preceded in death by her son, Mark Weller; two sisters, Patience Kawana and Shirley Cusick; and a son-in-law, William R. Hughey, Jr.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Church of Notre Dame, 2335 Highland Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148; or to the family, C/O McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon, PA 16148, to be used for the Buhl Park Memorial Bench Program.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday (08/17/2026) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Sharon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (08/18/2026) in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, with Rev. John Miller, pastor as celebrant.
Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
