Susan J. Younger, 68, of Hickory Township passed away the morning of Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at her residence. She was born Aug. 28, 1947, in Beaver Falls to the late Ralph T. and Margaret Hiteshue Merriman. Susan was a 1965 graduate of Riverside High School. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and then matriculated to the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in music. Susan went on to earn her master's degree of music in voice performance from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. She was formerly employed as an instructor of voice at Geneva College in Beaver Falls from 1973 until 1980. Susan is survived by her husband, Thomas Younger, who she married Dec. 18, 2010. She enjoyed ice skating, competitive roller skating and swimming. She was a former member and soloist of the Shenley Singers of Challenges: Options in Aging. Susan was a member of St. Vitus Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband, Eugene Patrick Cahill, whom she married Sept. 6, 1980, and he passed away on July 6, 2008. In keeping with Susan's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
