Sue Lysohir, 860 Lillian Dr., Hermitage, passed away peacefully in her home at 3:50 p.m. Friday(7-23-10), after an extended illness. She was 85.
Sue was born March 15, 1925 in Sharpsville to George and Susan Semancik Chuba.
She graduated from Sharpsville High School and was formerly employed in the payroll department of the Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corp.
A charter member of St. John's Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church, she helped make pirohi and assisted with other projects.
Sue's love for her family was far beyond all else, and spending time with them is what brought her greatest joys in life. Beside her family, she also enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards, and participating in sports.
Her husband, Steve Lysohir, whom she married July 30, 1949, survives at home. They would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this week.
She is also survived by her daughter, Karen Lysohir of Allentown, PA; two sons, Richard Lysohir of Salmon, ID and Thomas Lysohir and his wife, Renee', Hollidaysburg, PA; her grandson, Steven Lysohir of Austin, TX: her sister, Helen Kachaylo and her husband, Nicholas, of Brookfield, OH; two brothers, Andrew Chuba and his wife, Anne, of Hermitage, and Stephen Chuba and his wife, Joan, of Sharpsville; a sister-in-law, Anne Chuba, Sharpsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Anna and Mary Chuba, and her brothers, Michael, John, George, and Thomas Chuba.
Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday (7-26-10) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. where a Panachida service will be held at 8:30 p.m.

Service: Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (7-27-10) in St. John's Orthodox Cemetery Chapel, at the corner of South Hermitage and Morefield Roads, Hermitage, with Msgr. Michael Polanichka, pastor of St. John's C.R. Orthodox Church, officiating. A brief prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home prior to leaving for the chapel.
