Steven M. Laskey, 78, of Hermitage, passed away early Saturday morning, April 4, 2026, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle, following an extended illness.

Mr. Laskey was born August 13, 1947, in Sharon, a son of Hershel H. and Peggy L. (Wayne) Laskey. He was a 1965 graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage, and attended Youngstown State University.

In 1973, Steve was the first of the three sons to join his father in the family furniture business at the Sharpsville Ave. location. In 1986, Steve and his two brothers, Jay and Gary, took over ownership of the furniture business, now in its 73rd year.

A sports enthusiast, Steve loved following the local high school sports, especially Farrell Steelers Varsity Basketball. Earlier in his life, he was an avid bowler – winning several local tournaments, and a talented pool player. Steve was also a great left-handed pitcher and was a longtime member of several church softball teams.

Steve was a devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, and caring brother.

His beloved wife of 36 years, Carol A. (McCracken) Laskey, whom he married March 10, 1990, survives at their home in Hermitage.

Steve is also survived by two sons, Eric Laskey, Sharpsville, and Brandon Laskey, Hermitage; a daughter, Adrianne Laskey, also Hermitage; two step-sons, Brady Milligan (Leah), Ashville, NC, and Riley Milligan, Pittsburgh, PA; two brothers, Gary Laskey (Mary) and Jay Laskey (Carol), all of Hermitage. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to a charity of your choice, or simply being kind and doing a good deed in loving memory of Steve.

In keeping with his wishes, all services will be held privately.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
