Steven J. Dean, 53, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, February 4,2024.

Mr. Dean was born October 19, 1970, in New Castle, a son of Jerry and Joyce (Smith) Dean, and was a 1989 graduate of Laurel High School.

Steven managed the rental department at T&M Hardware, New Castle, for the last 10 years.

He was a member of New Life Baptist Church, New Wilmington.

An avid outdoorsmen, Steven loved deer hunting, camping, and taking care of his yard. He also enjoyed bowling.

His wife of 18 years, Donelle (Wills) Dean, whom he married November 19,2005, survives at home.

In addition to his wife and parents, Steven is survived by a son, Michael Sankey; two daughters, Savannah Dean and Stephanie Sankey, all of New Castle; a brother, Bryan Dean and his wife, Andrea, Canfield, OH; a sister, Michelle Nelson, New Castle; and a granddaughter, Aurora.

Steven was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Don and Rachel Wills.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (2-08-24) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (02-09-24) in the funeral home.
