Stephen Gary Takacs, 2776 Georgian Terrace, Marietta, Ga., passed away at 7 p.m. Thursday (7-11-13) in the Gentiva Hospice, which is part of Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Ga., following an extended illness. He was 54. Steve was born Nov. 4, 1958, in Sharon, the son of Steve and Lorraine Bean Takacs. He was 1976 graduate of Sharpsville High School and also attended Mercer County Vo-tech. He was a graduate of Penn State Cosmetology. Steve was employed by Delta Airlines for the past 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Patricia L. (Patti) Light Takacs; his mother, of Sharpsville; his father and his wife, Marilou, Boardman, Ohio; five sisters, Gloria Keiser and her husband Norm, West Middlesex, Judy Christie and her husband Howard, Butler, Darlene Takacs, Sharpsville, Margaret Gierchak, Sharpsville, and Symantha Erme and her husband Scott, Wadsworth, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his two loyal companion dogs, Kotaishi and Shin-zu. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society.
