Dr. Stephen D. Moses of Hermitage, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 7:07 p.m. in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health Systems. He was 77.

Dr. Moses was born on January 4, 1939 in Sharon, the son of the late Dr. Joseph and Sophia Schmier Moses.

He was a 1956 graduate of Sharon High School. Following high school, Stephen attended Mt. Union College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1964.  Following his graduation from dental school, Stephen served as a captain in the United States Air Force.

Dr. Moses was in private practice in Hermitage for over thirty years.  During this time, he was a member of the Mercer County Dental Society.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Hannah Kempler Moses.  They recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.  He is also survived by a daughter, Jessica (Marc) Buskirk of West Middlesex; a brother, Carl (Paula) Moses of Hermitage; two sisters, Sara (Robert) Englesberg of Mt. Lebanon, PA and Ellen (Thomas) Krysiek of Howland, OH. He was a source of strength as a husband, father, brother, and son.  His memory will be cherished.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Moses.

A private graveside service was held at Oakwood Cemetery.
