Stephen Kendzor, 67, of Sharon passed away in his home May 23, 2024.

Mr. Kendzor was born December 29, 1956, in Sharon, a son of the late Leonard W. and Doris J. (Litman) Kendzor, and was a 1975 graduate of Sharon High School.

He was a former member of the Church of the Sacred Heart in Sharon.

Throughout his life, Steve worked at various jobs.  His work life took him to different parts of the country – California, Louisiana, Vermont, Ohio, and back to Pennsylvania.  He was a roadie for the band, Blue Ash, worked on the oil rigs in the Gulf, and also worked as a roofer. Ultimately, he started his own business and worked as a tile setter for many years, specializing in flooring.  He retired in 2016.

Steve truly loved music and enjoyed playing the acoustic guitar and the harmonica whenever the opportunity presented itself.  For a time, he played harmonica in the band, Thaddeus Wolfgang.

He is survived by three brothers, James Kendzor, Sharon, Alan Kendzor, Hermitage, Leonard Kendzor, Sharon; three sisters, Evelyn Kroko (Dennis), Tustin, CA, Marilyn McKelvey (Dennis Bliss), New Orleans, LA, and Maribeth Dunn, Wheatland; and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his feline friend, Ozzy aka Oscar.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Kendzor and Dorothy Kendzor Soria; a sister-in-law, Susan Kendzor; two brothers-in-law, James Dunn and James McKelvey; a nephew, James W. Kendzor; a niece, Nicolette Crist; and his beloved dog, Rocky.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday (6-21-24) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

A memorial service will be held immediately following at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment: St. Mary Cemetery, Hermitage.
