IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephen M.
Comninos
September 14, 1982 – September 25, 2022
Stephen Michael Comninos, 40, of Hermitage passed away peacefully at noon on Sunday, September 25, 2022, following a courageous 15-year battle against ALS.
Stephen was born September 14, 1982, in Warren, a son of John and Linda (Bonta) Comninos. A 2001 graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage, Stephen earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2006.
Stephen married the love of his life, Misha (Boyer) Comninos, on August 24, 2013. From the moment they met, she loved and cared for Stephen every day of his life.
After graduating from IUP, Stephen lived with great friends in Tampa, FL, and Chandler, AZ, before returning to the Shenango Valley. Stephen enjoyed his time with friends and family, often strategically cheating to ensure victory on game nights. All who spent time with Stephen were amazed by his positive attitude and relentless effort in fighting ALS.
Stephen had a vast knowledge and appreciation of all sports, and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, with a special love for the Steelers.
Stephen's impact on those he met will live on perpetually, and his constant positivity throughout his life and illness will continue to inspire for years to come.
In addition to his wife, Misha, and his parents, John and Linda, all of Hermitage; Stephen is survived by two step-children, Michalene (James) Perry and Ian (Stacy) Wingard; three siblings, John Comninos, Danielle (Michael) Fahy, and his twin sister, Melissa (Sam) Faylo; his father and mother-in-law, John and Karen Boyer; two brothers-in-law, Sam (Melanie) and John (Jennifer) Boyer; five grandchildren, Olivia, Sophie, Addie, Kinsley, and Juliette; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his second family, Rob, Joanie, Robbie, Nicole, and Rachel Rainier.
Stephen was preceded in death by his sister, Nicole Marie Comninos; paternal grandparents, Steve and Anna Comninos; and maternal grandparents, Nick and Dorothy Bonta.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the ALS Association Western PA Chapter, 416 Lincoln Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15209.
