Stephanie Nadine Smith

Stephanie Nadine Smith-Boles, 69, of Sharon, formerly of Hermitage, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2026, at her home.

Stephanie was born December 19, 1956, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Stephen Sr. and Joan (Unger) Golub. She was a graduate of Hickory High School.

A homemaker and former caregiver, Stephanie found great joy in caring for others. She was the kind of person who was always willing to lend a helping hand and make sure the people around her were cared for. Her greatest happiness came from her family. She treasured the time she spent with those she loved, and above all, she cherished her role as Mimi to her grandchildren, who were truly her pride and joy.

Stephanie was a member of the Croatian-American Civic Club in Farrell.

She found enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. She loved listening to music and watching movies and television shows, especially The Game Show Network, The Waltons, and Little House on the Prairie. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and playing euchre and spades. These everyday moments, shared with the people she loved, were among the things that made her happiest.

Stephanie leaves behind her beloved husband, Frank Boles, whom she married on August 20, 2010. He survives at home.

In addition to her husband, Stephanie is survived by her two daughters, Courtney Gelesky (Joe) and Lindsay Cates, both of Sharon; her stepchildren, Rachael Root (Stan) and Bradley Boles; five brothers, Gerard Golub (Cheryl), Stephen Golub Jr. (Carrie), David Golub, Jeffrey Golub, and Scott Golub (Angela); and her four grandchildren, Morgan, Raegan, Alexander, and Gianna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen Sr. and Joan Golub; her brother, Brad Golub; and her sister, Lisa Golub.

Stephanie will be remembered for her caring heart, her willingness to help others, her love of family, and most of all, for the love she gave so freely to her children and grandchildren. To Morgan, Raegan, Alexander, and Gianna, she was not simply their grandmother. She was Mimi, a beloved presence whose love will remain a part of them for the rest of their lives.

Though she is no longer with us, the love Stephanie gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
