Sir J. Thomas

Sir J. Thomas, 72, of Farrell, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in his home.

Mr. Thomas was born on September 14, 1954, in Sharon, a son of the late Jesse James and Ora (Meredith) Thomas. He attended Sharon Schools and enlisted in the U.S.M.C. delayed entry program before becoming active during the Vietnam War era.

He was known by most as “Sirjio The Entertainer,” and by the moniker “One Man, Many Voices,” for his supreme musical and vocal talents. Sirjio began his career with notable music groups, Chain Reaction and A Taste of Love, for which they received a proclamation from the PA House of Representatives, and later groups, The East Coast Rat Pack and Sirjio and Sodono.

He achieved a Bachelor of Science from the American College of Metaphysical Theology, later earning a Philosophical Doctorate from Rehoboth Biblical College, and was ordained by Rev. Dr. Janet Newell.

Embodied with an entrepreneurial spirit, Sir was a licensed private investigator – forming the Thomas Davenport Agency with his wife, Deborah, in 1999. Over the years, he maintained several small businesses, including a hair salon, several cleaning companies, and a record label.

Sir loved to share his knowledge and insights with those who sought counsel for all matters personal, philosophical, or spiritual.

He is survived by his loving and devoted of wife of 47 years, Deborah Ann (Davenport) Thomas, whom he married on November 1, 1978; and together they are survived by three children, Timothy R. Thomas, Kelly J. Davis (Earl), and Sir Thomas (Nicole) ; daughters, Cyan Otey and Jessica Stroia; eight siblings, David Meredith, Leon Meredith, Theresa Thomas, Gary Thomas, Rose Philips, Richard Thomas, Tonja Culp, and Michael Thomas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Sir was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Davis.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday (10-1-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon; and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday (10-2-26) in Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon New Castle Rd., Farrell.
