Sima Kordich, 88, of West Middlesex, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 2, 2026, in Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Kordich was born on October 30, 1937, in Medjugorje, Croatia, a daughter of the late Jozo Zovko and Anica (Ostojic) Zovko.
On February 16, 1958, Sima married her beloved husband, Mate Kordich, and began to raise their beautiful family. In 1970, Sima and Mate immigrated to the United States with their small children and settled in West Middlesex. Mate preceded her in death on June 7, 2005, following 47 years of marriage.
For more than 30 years, she worked for the environmental services department at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell.
A woman of devout faith, Sima was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Sharon.
An exceptional gardener, she was an avid canner who also loved baking. Sima enjoyed sharing her vegetables and desserts with friends and family. She also looked forward to hunting with her son, mostly to spend time together in nature.
Sima is survived by three daughters, Rada Cline, of Blairsville, GA, Rose Doyle (Philip), of Clemmons, NC, and Anna Grieble (Douglas), of Westerville, OH; two sons, Marinko Kordich (Darla), of Seattle, WA, and Dragan Kordich (Ruzica), of West Middlesex; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sima was preceded in death by two brothers, Jakov and Vlado Zovko, infant twin brothers, and a son-in-law, David Cline.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 804 Idaho St., Sharon, PA, 16146.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday (9-12-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, in St. Anthony Church, Sharon, with Rev. James Power, as celebrant.
Interment: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hermitage.
