Shirley J. Yount

Shirley J. Yount, 77, of Hermitage, passed away along with her husband, Jack Yount, on Monday, February 2, 2026, in her home.

Mrs. Yount was born on January 6, 1949, in Sharon, a daughter of Charlie and Violet (Schreckenghost) Haun. She was a 1967 graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage.

A homemaker, Shirley took great pride in keeping an immaculate home and had a wonderful doll collection that she had acquired throughout her life.

In 1978, she married her loving husband, Jack P. Yount, Sr., and they enjoyed 47 years together until their passing.

Shirley is survived by a son, Richard Crawford, of Johnstown, PA; and three step-sons, Jack P. Yount, Jr. (Pam), of Georgia, Darrin T. Yount (Diane), of Southington, OH, and Jeffrey M. Yount (Lori), of Sharon; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

In keeping with her wishes, a private burial will take place alongside her husband in Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
