Shirley L. Powell, 90, of West Middlesex, passed away Monday evening, June 16, 2025, while under hospice care at her home.

Mrs. Powell was born April 22, 1935, in Porter Township – Jefferson County, PA, a daughter of the Russel and Elzada (Coleman) Snyder. Shirley was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School.

For many years, Shirley worked as a sales clerk at Tic Toc Food Mart in Coitsville, OH.

Shirley was a faithful reader of the Bible.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother.

Her beloved husband of 65 years, Roy Lee Powell, whom she married June 16, 1953, preceded her in death on September 12, 2018.

Shirley is survived by three sons, Dennis L. Powell (Pauline), of Pulaski, PA, Curtis L. Powell, of Edinburg, and Douglas L. Powell (Kendra), of Edinburg; a brother, Mervin Snyder; a niece whom she considered a sister, Pam Nicewarmer; two grandchildren, Lucas and Christopher Powell; and four great-grandchildren, Brooke, Benjamin, Charlotte, and Mason.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a sister, Althea Zepp; and a brother, Dean Snyder.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
